Electrão, Waste Management Association, is the entity operating in the extended producer responsibility area to whom the producers trust the recycling and global management of their waste and used equipment.Electrão is a trusted partner when it comes to transferring the responsibility for the management of specific waste streams and the effective management of used equipment and waste produced by companies.Electrão adds value to its members by applying strategies focused on re-use, a more efficient waste management and environmental research and communication initiatives, aiming to encourage a shift into a circular economy.

Collecting, recycling andre-using more and betterwill always be the basis for building these three cornerstones of trust in Electrão, which are translate into the following:
Collecting, re-using and recycling used electronic equipment, packaging and batteries produced in Portugal, in bigger quantities and with better quality;
Collecting used electronic equipment, packaging and batteries with increased integrity and safety, optimizing its re-use, treatment and recovery and minimizing the environmental and human risks inherent to the activity;
Promoting the treatment and recovery of used electronic equipment, packaging and batteries, ensuring the depollution of their dangerous components and increasing the recycling of their constituent material.
Creating a value proposition for members based on extended producer responsibility, for the application of strategies focused on re-use, a more efficient waste management and environmental research and communication initiatives.
Ensuring the competitiveness of the amounts charged for collecting, sorting, treating and recovering used electronic equipment, packaging and batteries.

Electrão’s structure and activity impose the need for conducts from its associates, associations and board that are ruled by a sense of social responsibility, ethics and consciousness regarding their activity’s impact. The ethical structure it bases the success of their activities, encompasses the basic principles and rules of conduct in the Association’s core and the relationship with producers and operational partners, as well as with third parties in general.
